Benedictine University Introduces Women's Flag Football as Varsity

Benedictine University is proud to introduce women's flag football as a varsity sport.

The Eagles will compete in the Midwest Women's Flag Football Conference, which includes teams from Benedictine, Concordia, Elmhurst, Indiana Wesleyan, Judson, Lawrence Tech, Lewis, Marian, Olivet Nazarene, and Robert Morris.

The season will run from August to October, and the Eagles will play five home games at Benedictine Sports Complex. The team will be coached by head coach Molly Grisham, who has over 10 years of experience coaching flag football.

"We are excited to add women's flag football to our varsity sports offerings," said athletic director Steve DeMeo. "We believe this sport will be a great addition to our athletic program and will provide our student-athletes with a unique opportunity to compete at a high level."

Benedictine College offers several varsity sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, cross country, and track and field. The Eagle Club Golf Outing will be held on Friday, June 3, at Lisle Park District's Oak Knolls Golf Course. The event will feature a four-person scramble format, with a shotgun start at 8:00 AM. Registration is $125 per person, and includes golf, cart, lunch, and dinner.

The Eagle Club is a group of supporters who are dedicated to providing financial and moral support to Benedictine University Athletics.
